Network Servers

The Network Servers page is where you can list and create sets of credentials for connecting to servers that contain shared folders. Endpoint Recovery can use only one set of credentials for each server you plan to connect to. For any secured shares you will need to define a login name and password. This includes any shared folders that you plan to restore to or backup from, in addition to shared folders which contain a destination.

Add Server

Click this to add login credentials for a new server. These credentials will be used for reading files from network shares for backups, attaching to shared Destination folders, and restoring to network shares.

What is the difference between Login Name and Connected User?

A server may have a current connection (created by Endpoint Recovery or any other Windows application). That current connection is displayed under Connected User. A server may also have credentials defined by Endpoint Recovery. That is the Login Name (we don't show the Login Password).

Server List

The network server list shows all servers for which you have defined credentials. For each server it shows the

Server Name

The name of the server

Login Name

What name will be used to login to the share

Connected User

Who is currently connected to the share, which may be different or no one

Shares

A summary view of the various shares on the server. In the detail view you can expand the Shares entry to show all of the shared folders by name. You can also just mouse-over the summary to see a list of the shared folders.

Action Buttons

Set Credentials

For a server, change/set the login credentials (username, domain, and password).

Remove Credentials

Remove any Endpoint Recovery saved credentials for this server.

Refresh Shares

Rescan the network server to determine what shared folders exist and what the access rights to those folders are when logging in with the supplied credentials.

Disconnect

Retain the credentials for a server but disconnect from it (logout). This will disconnect the server no matter which application has connected to it. Use this to establish different credentials for a server.
