User InterfaceDetailed Explanations |
Account SettingsUsernameThis is set when the user is created. Generally use your windows login name for convenience. There's no reason to change your name. PasswordThe Password is never stored by us, except for automatic login by the user interface. Please keep a copy of it. Data PasswordThe current data password is used as the encryption key for any new destinations you create. When an alert is generated for a failed job or full destination, it is sent to this email. When an alert is generated for a failed job or full destination, a direct message is sent to this twitter account. You must follow the EndpointService twitter application account in order to receive a direct message alert. Account TypeWe support Administrators (who can see and edit everything) and Users (who can only see and edit their own jobs and policies). Users only see one Settings page - the Account page. LanguageSelect a language for the user interface. AlertsDDPER supports sending you alerts (by email or Twitter) when something fails. Some alerts are sent immediately (when a backup fails or a destination is unavailable for a backup or a destination fills up). Some alerts are sent during the Alert Monitor Job run (at midnight, traditionally) after backups have not happened for a specific number of days. In general, alerts don't have much information. They are intended to tell you that something happened and then you'll need to run the User Interface for more information.
