Alerts

DDPER supports sending you alerts (by email or Twitter) when something fails. Some alerts are sent immediately (when a backup fails or a destination is unavailable for a backup or a destination fills up). Some alerts are sent during the Alert Monitor Job run (at midnight, traditionally) after backups have not happened for a specific number of days.

In general, alerts don't have much information. They are intended to tell you that something happened and then you'll need to run the User Interface for more information.

How to get an Update

If you receive an alert indicating that updates are available, the easiest way to get that update is to run the user interface (GUI) and select Check for Updates in the Gear menu in the masthead. This will bring up a dialog box showing the latest update version and allowing you to read the ChangeLog or just download and install the update.
